Eastern province leaders, joined by residents of Nyagatare district, commemorated Kwibohora32 with tributes to the liberation heroes and a renewed commitment to national progress.
Maj Gen Ruki Karusisi emphasized that liberation went beyond ending the Genocide: “After stopping the Genocide against the Tutsi, the journey continued with rebuilding the nation, uniting Rwandans, strengthening institutions, and driving sustainable development.”
Governor Prudence R. described the event as both a remembrance and a forward looking mission: “This journey is historic, it is a journey of values and direction, especially for the youth… We thank His excellency president Paul Kagame who led the liberation struggle, stopped the Genocide, and established good governance focused on rapid development.”
Mayor of Nyagatare district, Henry Kakooza highlighted tangible achievements:
“We thank the Inkotanyi who liberated Rwanda and president Paul Kagame… In Nyagatare, we have many roads, schools, and health centres. This year we added the Ngoma water pipeline and will soon connect more from the Muvumba River. Over 11,000 homes have been connected to electricity, with more projects coming to reach every household.”
The gathering urged the youth to work hard, protect national unity, and play their part in building a stronger Rwanda.
